Takau's fur bristled as suddenly there were wolves all around him. Every size, every shape, and yet every one chilled him to the bone. Every one was a possible threat to him. Eyes stared as he pushed himself to walk, silently fighting against all of his instincts. His paws slapped on the floor noisily, his tail reaching between his hind legs and his body low to the ground. Looking round, Takau noticed he was not the only wolf not at home here. Others were low to the ground, eyes flickering nervously every time somebody went past them. This fact made Takau raise himself slightly; He was no less worth than they. This new land was Takaus last hope: he could not go back. It was either make it here or die. Contrary to what he had heard, this place did not feel like a haven of peace and silent worship of unknown Gods to Takau; Instead, it felt like a place of corruption and death. He shook the thought away as he approached a stern-looking wolf. He wanted to look confident, yet he did not want to look out of his place. Therefore, he kept his head low to the ground, but withdrew his tail from beneath him. "I am a newcomer here." He said to the wolf.

PHRINOBlazing, stifling heat ripped across the open plain, hitting Phrino in waves as it glided in. It was roughly mid-day and with the sun at it's highest point, Phrino was in one of his arrogant, stuck-up attitudes he was notorious for at times like these. It had been just about four or five days--or had it been only two? Anymore the days ran together like falling rain on a translucent window pane, and he was unable to remember anything. Well, anything except but the detail of those fine water drops.
She was all he could think about. Her coat, that twinkle in her eyes, her voice; it was all he could do to not skip around like a love struck yearling. If only he had been more polite when she had to leave. Stupid! He always broke off his relations as soon as he got his mind thinking about the consequences. It was a tragic loss. She would soon be placed with another male, and he would be out of her life, her picture. Anger swelled up inside him as another sweltering pool of hot air rushed over him. It was never meant to be.
The male clamped his eyes shut to the blazing ball of fire above, his tail hitting the dusty ground as he breathed in Dachau's earthy smells, the lavender blossoms that were planted at the entrance to the city. It was time to at least get something done today; other than daydreaming about Wicca, of course. He roughly lifted himself off the ground, shaking his pelt as he made his way through the crowd along with a sharp growl slipping his lips as he was bustled around by the crowd. What a mess these wolves are. . . They were all flea-ridden wolves looking for handouts from his country. His royal country. Pfft. Go find some sympathy somewhere else!
"I am a newcomer here."
"Huh?"
Phrino's audits pricked as a white-patched wolf walked up before him, his amber eyes already beginning to analyze the brute before him. Posture. Check. Respect. Check. Fear. Check. Motto. . . Phrino waited a few seconds before he narrowed his eyes at the male, raising his tail as a simple warning. His voice was cold, rough. He would not heed to a simple dog.
"And? You want to be sorted? In Dachau, you greet your officers by a greeting. Maybe you didn't know. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt."
With a sly smirk Phrino continued his brutal assault. He stepped closer to the male, puffing out his chest in an effort to look bigger, trying to notch up his intimidation factor.
"Repeat after me. 'Dachau Above All'."
By this point in his job as a country Zielle, Phrino had become a pro at getting to know a wolf just by how he ticked in certain situations. He relished the feeling of being able to manipulate the mind. He wanted the juicy personality quirks on the wolves he sorted. What would make them sweat, what would make them flinch the most; that's what he wanted to know. Everything was a test here. He relished it, loved it.
And then he remembered Wicca.

The baking sun was really getting to Takau. He was used to harsher, colder climates than this and his thick coat provided him with extra heat which just succeeded in helping the sweat to run off him in sheets. His tongue hung out of his mouth limply, raising and dropping with each shallow breath. His predominantly thick plain pelt stood out in his surroundings, white against the oranges and browns of the horizon. The scents of the many wolves were infiltrating every cavity of Takau’s nose, filling every sense with a blunt smell of fear, sweat and excitement, excitement of wolves like Takau who had travelled from other lands; Fear from wolves like Takau, who knew this was their last chance.
" And? You want to be sorted? In Dachau, you greet your officers by a greeting. Maybe you didn't know. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt." Takau raised his head, defiantly meeting the officers gaze. He did not want to appear weak. He stood slightly higher as he noticed the other wolf do the same. Nevertheless, Takau still stayed slightly lower than him, showing respect. The tip of his tail now twitched upwards, in anticipation of what was about to occur. His body was swaying on his long legs, the heat quickly depleting the power and energy in his muscles. “ Y-yes.” He panted. “I would like to be sorted.” He inwardly cursed himself at his stupidity at walking up to a wolf that was obviously high ranking, and boldly saying “ I am a newcomer here.” He just opened himself up to be targeted. His gaze never faltered, looking into the powerful males challenging eyes.
"Repeat after me. 'Dachau Above All'." Takau faintly heard him say. It took a few moments for his brain to register what he had said. “Dachau Above All...” He murmured. His paws were shifting on the sun baked ground, and his ears twitching, and now it had nothing to do with the heat. The officers’ scrutinizing and questioning look seemed to stare into Takau himself, it was all he could do to keep his head where he was. This wolf was obviously well practiced in making lesser beings squirm, and looking into his face, Takau could see that he was enjoying it. ‘Well.’ He thought. ‘I’m not going to give him the satisfaction.’
And he stood at full height, now raising his head above his shoulders and pricking his ears half way up. And immediately wished he had thought about his rash actions before he had done them. He was totally wrong to do this, and out of place with the other wolf. He waited for his verdict.
