ALBREHT
It was beautiful summer, the heat of the day when he arose from within the dens from below, shaking his ruffled coat to greet the sun. Last night he had stayed up to watch the moon, to concentrate on the star formations above. Maybe they would be able to provide him some much needed guidance. Then again, maybe not. No matter what question he posed to them, which inquiry he pressed for an answer with fangs bared, they spoke no more than they did every other night. The sky was silent. It gave no solace in it's indigo palette, among which one could easily get trapped. For Albreht, that was not enough.[/blockquote]
Last night had been different in another sense though. His dreams, usually dark and full of grey tones had been colorful, dazzling in contrast to what he was used to. He had romped in the greenest meadow, howled to the azure sky as he watched a band of females in heat gather in a single territory. They were all heavy with pup and the male had watched as they borne pups. The pups raced towards the boundaries of the small clearing, aging as they ran, their forms filling out, their barks turning into adult growls and snarls of terrifying wolves. Yet at the same time they were gentle, respectful. Their eyes sparkled with wisdom, and their strides lengthened, a stunning sight of the power and endurance of the wild wolf.
"These are the future wolves of Dachau."
It was a strong voice that called to him through the night. Albreht had whipped his body around, searching for the creator of such a voice, his eyes glimpsing a red, sparkling wolf as it bounded into the trees, it's body dissipating into the violet morning light. It had been then that he had awoken, shook into reality. This was his reason for the meeting. Dachau was about to be forever changed. As his paws paraded up to the rock, Albreht paused, his breathing slow and even. He took a deep breath, the warm rush of air into his lungs being released as he lifted his head into a howl, a call for all wolves. He had sent out patrols from Zentriv a few weeks ago to alert all the packs that he would need them to assemble. Every wolf, every pup of age would be here soon. Then he could announce the news.
Leaping onto the rock Albreht waited fr them, his head still stuck in the clouds. What a beautiful day. . .
