THE BASICS - 1.0
language 1.1
Here on Dachau, you may use profanity within limits. Please try to regulate this strictly to ICly only. We request that you be courteous to other players who may be sensitive to profanity. Which means be tactful. Once in a while is fine, but if it becomes a problem, you will be given a warning. Swearing in the C-box is unnecessary. Don't do it.
c-box 1.2
Our C-box is a privilege that can be taken away. Please be considerate while using the C-box and make sure you act respectfully towards your fellow members at all times. Swearing at other members or the staff will result in a warning. Please keep the comment spam to a minimum (posting five or six times in a row.)
character totals 1.3
In the past, Dachau has been lenient with character limits. As of April 2010, this rule has been revised. Each player may create no more than six characters initially. If you would like to create another character, you may purchase a pass from the Coin Exchange. Provided that you're active with all of your current characters, your request will be approved. Failure to keep all of your individual characters active will result in their deletion.
profile 1.4
When signing up, please pick an appropriate username. Most likely your choice will reflect what you'll be called OOCly. Unique names are preferred, but not enforced. Profanity or offensive material contained in your username is not acceptable, and the account will be deleted without warning.
word limit 1.5
The word minimum here at Dachau is a lenient 300. That's three-to-four solid paragraphs. There is a word counter provided below the 'preview' button.
Activity 1.6
*While members are not expected to post every day, the minimum activity level requirement is currently two posts per week. This does not include OOC posts. It is preferred that characters & staff with a high rank log in approximately every 9 days. After those nine days have elapsed, and you have not posted an away message, or otherwise checked in with us, your character will be demoted by a rank. Immediately following the demotion in rank, you will not be able to reclaim or challenge for your rank for another five days. Repeat failures to be active with a high-ranking character will demote them to 'omega' status--after that, it's up to the current pack leader whether or not you can or will earn back your position.
CHARACTERS - 2.0
appearances 2.1
Absolutely no unnatural coat colors, eye colors, or markings. This is a realistic wolf rp, meaning that unusual character designs--such as horns or wings--while fun, have no place here. Basically, if it's on a Sparkledog, it isn't permitted here. You may, however, be as creative as you'd like with the variety of breeds located in the creation board.
names 2.2
Please be creative with the naming of your character. You may choose names from every corner of the world, each with meanings that can easily suit or even reveal something about your character. While there are no restrictions on the name you choose to give your character, please think twice before deciding to name them something like 'Treeflower.'
breeds 2.3
You can find a list of all the accepted breeds of wolves in the creation board. Occasionally, you can even buy the more rare breeds via the coin exchange. Please note, however, that these are often limited in number, and tend to be expensive. So please double-check the in-stock availability and price before putting in a request in the purchase thread. The only way a dog breed or a wolf hybrid would be available would be through random prizes or a giveaway--occasionally, they can be found in the shop, as well.
age 2.4
You cannot make a character under a year old unless you have adopted one of the litters that are periodically available.
PACK RULES - 3.0
Alpha 3.1
Everything thing the Alpha says goes. They are in complete control over what happens in the pack's hierarchy and determine the fate of everyone in their reign. The Alpha can have an Alphaess as a mate, or in rare cases, the Alphaess takes control of the pack.
Beta 3.2
The Beta is a type of Adviser the the Alpha; he/she keeps the peace and usually backs up the Alpha fully. A Beta is allowed a mate, called a Betaess.
Pack Members 3.1
All other packs members are in some sort of loose hierarchy. They provide food for the pack and they obey the upper commands and rules. Basically, the pack members create the pack's true identity.
Pups 3.1
Pups are the youngest in the group, but they are not always ranked lowest. According to their parents, the pups get their rank. Obviously the Alpha's pups would rank high; almost in line with the Betas, while the regular pack member's would only be higher than the Omega. When pups turn one they are sent of to one of two camps, based on gender.
Omega 3.1
The lowest of the low, the Omegas are usually the weakest wolf in the group and are demoted to this position. They do, however, play a significant part in keeping the peace and lessening tensions between the wolves in the pack. They usually are the scapegoat for all the trouble in the group and aren't respected.
BREEDING && BIRTHING - 4.0
graphic breeding 4.1
This type of breeding is not allowed, as it violates Proboards TOS. A mating can be heavily implied, but either keep it vague, or PM the other player and carry it out that way.
pregnancy 4.2
When a she-wolf is pregnant by a male, the female must wait a week, aka seven days, before having her pups. In that time there must be at least one post in which she mentions and notifies the others of her pregnancy. Once she is ready to birth the pups, she can make her own, solitary post or join another in which she births them. As with the breeding policy, it shouldn't be too graphic.
playing the pups 4.3
Once the pups are born, the mother and father may choose a pup to play; the rest, if there are any, will be put up for adoption and the other players on this site can then ask to play a pup. The players of the parents may then decide among themselves whether to hold auditions, or award pups to each player on a first-come, first-served basis.

MISC. ITEMS - 6.0
applying for a pack 6.1[/i]
Just so everything is clear; you will not always receive the pack you wish. You can put in a request, but sometimes, due to pack numbers, your wolf will be told to join a different pack. We're not out to switch around all your plans; just send us a simple PM of why you want to be in that pack. More than likely, we'll say sure and then your wolf and the Zielle can RP it out. :3 [/blockquote][/size]
Foreign Languages 6.2[/i]
If you are applying with a character that speaks a language other than the Common tongue that most of the denizens of Dachau speak, please note the following rule. You must provide a translation in a footnote. This makes it much less confusing for the rest of us while reading over your posts. This doesn't mean that the translation will bleed through to IC knowledge, but if the gist of your post can't be understood, it makes it difficult for others to know how to respond, and is also in direct violation of Proboard TOS.
