Crisp, autumn leaves wavered on the thin tree branches as powerful winds swept Dachau's colorful country side. It was a colder morning today, and one such that left Farbe's only elder wolf to complain about the painful aches in her old bones that left her breathless at times. A slim, and beautifully beige female slipped from beneath a pile of nature's finest leaves, her back arching delicately as she stretched sleep's cocoon away from her. The sun glimmered just over her pack's hillside, the orange and red colors vibrant in the slight mist that hung over the valley. Hekka's voice rose into a squeaky whine as she yawned, her pearled teeth exposed and at the ready now that alertness joined her.
Hekka had always been older than the rest during her days. Brought from the olden packs that had owned Dachau before such a name had existed, Hekka was one of the last survivors from those years. Such good memories flooded her memory as she brought up an amble through the crunchy snows of her home. In truth, the wolf could not say her life had not been good; it had been plenty filled with wealth and yes, sorrow too. When her mother had died, for instance. A tragic story, and yet another topic entirely. She had seen the progressive stages of the wolf community; the building of civilized packs, the growing of ranks, and the sorting. It was all something she had adapted and adjusted too, another changing factor in her life that made her journey all the more interesting.
The sunlight dappled onto the fae's back as she brought her gait to an even trot, scattering piles and small drifts of softly laden snow about the forest floor. It was a gorgeous morning and one that made Hekka long to stretch her legs in a good run for food. It was brisk in her environment, on thing that she had always relished about the trees. Farbe had been her ideal home and she openly respected the Zielle that had chosen said habitat for her to reside in. The Alphas were nice enough; Hekka usually stayed on the skirts of the pack business as of late just due to laziness. She had been tired and traveling from place to place had made her lose interest in the things moving and changing about her. Today was a chance however; she wished for conversation, someone to chat with.
Optics flashed in the golden rays as a streak of grey bobbed past Hekka's paw tips. The scent of rabbit overwhelmed her nostrils and in an instant her hind legs rocketed from her amicable trot to a fast, lurching pace that pushed herself to the limit as she edged closer and closer to the hare with every waking moment. Hekka's thoughts had gone primordial, giving every breath that she drew to supplying her muscles with oxygen to keep their presence within that of the hare's. Unlucky was this particular rabbit that it's brown coat had already turned into a white and grey mixture due to the unusual cold temperatures this year. Lucky for Hekka, however, that she had lived miles north from here and this warmth was unheard of in her old reign. With a lunge forward that the best hunter would be struggling to out perform, Hekka snatched the hare from the ground, adding to her show a bite to seal the deal. Breakfast was served.
Hekka's race done and her bodily needs almost answered, the she-wolf turned about her, eyes searching for a place to enjoy her meal. The wood around her was thinner than before, leveling out in a wide expanse of meadow before meeting a small lake that gave life to her pack. It was stunning in the morning's soft glow, the lake shimmering with fish as they reached up to lick the azure sky. But where to enjoy her meal? Before Hekka could decide upon a certain spot, a crackle of stepped leaves from beneath the snowfall sounded from behind her. The wolf immediately responded by letting loose her rabbit along with a snarl, claws testing the grass feverishly. The she-wolf didn't know well enough who the intruder would be; the aroma of the freshly killed rabbit was still fresh in her jowls and the scent of the other wolf was deeply embedded. Spinning around on her back leg, Hekka observed as a wolf slunk through the trees several yards in front of her, apparently unaware of her position. Hekka inched slowly forward, her orbs squinting to somehow recognize the feature of this wolf but not to alert her presence to them. After a few seconds the image clicked as well as scent; a male of Farbe and most certainly one she had seen before. It was distant and yet she could not recall his name. Bikau? No, that tone didn't ring a bell within the she-wolf's long memory.
Better introduce myself. It was a hasty decision, but Hekka clamped down upon her catch and once again entered the woods. Maybe this wolf would like to sit and just talk with her, and possibly eat a morsel or two of her meal. On a day like this, the possibilities were simply endless.

Aurex had not been in contact with any of his pack’s wolves for a while now. It wasn’t really as much as going into hiding, rather than wanting some time to himself. He had discovered many things since his leaving. This gave him more of a chance to learn about the world, and even come up with his own philosophy. He noticed how still nightlife is, but at the same time lively and filled with danger. He even pretended to be nocturnal once, only to experience what it would be like. It was different than being out in the day in many ways. He worked on his fighting techniques with an elderly mountain lion, which really helped him a lot.
Aurex decided that is had been long enough since his departure and headed back to Farbe; a permanent place that he could call home. He wondered what it would be like, and if anything had changed. He wondered if everyone was still there, and if they could even remember his scent. Who couldn’t remember my scent? If anyone could not remember his scent, they would probably remember in a short moment after coming into contact with him, he was sure of that.
Off he went, heading back into Farbe. It did not look very different. The air smelled great and fresh. The leaves looked different since he last left. This time the leaves were lighter and not as green. More of a light orangeish and redish color. The tall, green grass was covered in a slight layer of dew which made the fur on his paws dampen. For some reason, he did not smell a strong scent of wolves, like he used to. He did not know why, and found it very strange. He couldn’t figure out what the reason could be, except for maybe they got into a huge war and lost… But if that were the case, wouldn’t there be the winning wolves all over Farbe? It did not make very much sense to him, so he decided to venture further into Farbe.
As Aurex ventured further, he finally could smell a female’s scent throughout the air. It was very faint, which meant she was a ways off, but she was still there. He wondered who it could be. His first reaction was that it could be Amaya, but this scent seemed too distant from hers. He had not met this female before, or if he did, he did not remember her at all! Aurex walked slowly, being sure not to loose the scent. If he ran, he could easily startle her or cause her to get in attack mode. He didn’t mind fighting, but Aurex preferred to brawl with males. He couldn’t prove anything by battling a female wolf. Aurex could tell that he was getting closer and closer to her. He was walking through a very treed out area and lost her scent so he sat down and took in a couple deep breaths. After about forty seven seconds, he could then finally track her again. Coincidentally, she happened to only be a little ways away from him.
As he slowly approached her, he was certain that he had never seen her before. ”Hello… Do you live in Farbe? Or are you an outsider?”
[[Definately not one of my best posts around here...]]

H E K K A”Hello… Do you live in Farbe? Or are you an outsider?”
The sound of another wolf's voice sparked something in the old she-wolf as Aurex moved closer. The cream coated female stepped forward in a gesture of acceptance, her soft amber eyes watching the grey wolf before her. Did he not remember her?
